In their Commonwealth Games cricket match, India defeated Pakistan by an eight-wicket margin.


Smriti Mandhana hit 63 off 42 balls as India defeated Pakistan's total of 99 with 38 balls to spare.


Pakistan were dismissed with the final ball of their innings, which had been reduced to 18 overs due to rain at Edgbaston.


Sneh Rana of India shone in the Group A match, taking 2-15.
India bounced back from an opening Pool A defeat by Australia with a win on Sunday.

They can advance to the semi-finals if they beat Barbados in their final group stage match on Wednesday.

With a nine-wicket victory over the Caribbean side, world champions Australia became the first team to reach the semi-finals.

The favourites needed just 49 balls to reach their target after bowling Barbados out for 64, with Hayley Matthews the only batter to reach double figures.

As Beth Mooney's wicket was the only one to fall, captain Meg Lanning hit an unbeaten 36, aided by 23 from Alyssa Healy.
